White Rose
White Rose Shopping Centre is located on the south side of Leeds City Centre. The Centre’s owners Land Securities worked with design group Sixteen Hands to refresh the centre’s branding reflecting its stronger fashion focus. When they looked to update the Centre’s signage with the new branding, Wood&Wood were delighted to be appointed to manufacturer both the external and internal signage. As part of the external signage Wood&Wood created 4 post mounted signs located on each of the approaching roundabouts. Each sign is 3.7 metres high x 4.2 metres wide, manufactured from aluminium panels with the name of the shopping centre in built-up halo illuminated lettering.
On the shopping centre entrance itself, the signage comprises 4 sets of LED illuminated “Welcome to Whiterose”. The low running costs of LED’s mean that they can be used throughout the day to provide bright clear signage. Sustainability is important to the Centre, which holds a Green Apple Award from The Green Organisation. With 12.5 million visitors a year there is an array of internal signage to direct shoppers around the centre, from car park signage to suspended directional signage and banners.
Each sign type was designed to be fit for purpose and a key consideration of this project was to ensure the brand colours of blackberry, grape and warm grey were kept true across a range of mediums.
