Dublin Docklands
Wood&Wood undertook a wayfinding audit and then designed a bespoke sign family that would accommodate Dublin Docklands Development Authority's, DDDA, current and future needs.
This wayfinding signage project posed a complex challenge. The main monolith comprising a column of 316 grade stainless steel with the Docklands logo applied via a ‘shot peened’ process. 10mm thick stainless steel base plates carry laser-etched text.
A laminated graphic panel uses two different sized pieces of glass (the larger forming a flange for the bond) with a digital print applied to the back of the glass for ease of changeability. All panels were specially commissioned and produced by Wood&Wood with soft, curved edges reflecting broader aesthetic principles conceived by DDDA’s architects.
