Kentish Town Health Centre
Kentish Town Health Centre is one of a new generation of healthcare facilities promoting a holistic approach to health by housing a large GP’s practice and a wide range of health services. Wood&Wood Signs were appointed by the main contractors Morgan Ashurst to manufacture the signage for this award winning building. Working with the artist Morag Myerscoff and architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Wood&Wood produced a sign that is also a work of art. The glass sign box contains individually fret cut polycarbonate elements including the KTHC apothecary’s bottle and a tooth. The glass sign box spans 12 metres long, has 4 invisible joins and is internally floodlit using LED tubes, which as well as being low maintenance provide clear vibrant colours. The sign was built to create a 3D effect with no visible fixings or shadows. The end result is an innovative and transparent piece that reflects what happens inside the building on the outside.
