Client Tennents Brewery
The Tennent family started brewing on the original brewery site in 1556. The business expanded in the 1790s when the family purchased the neighbouring brewery and re-named the 5-acre (20,000 m2) site Wellpark Brewery.
Tennents decided to update their signage at the brewery in Glasgow. They wanted to create more contemporary signage but also ensure that their local heritage was reflected and maintained.
Wood and Wood were delighted to work with designers Stand United to achieve the objective.
The scale of the signage is quite impressive with the larger roundels spanning 4.5 metres. To achieve this size we produced two sections of moulded GRP, which were fixed seamlessly onto the façade of the building. The logo was created using built up letters with Truled acrylic faces and LEDs provide halo illumination around the perimeter of the sign. The overall effect reflects this strong brand, which claims the largest share of the Scottish beer market.
