Business park signage

Client Hive Business Park

Hive is a major business park, strategically located at junction 12 of the M4 with direct routes to Reading, London and Bristol.

Working closely with designers, fwdesign and developers, Praxis, Wood and Wood won a competitive tender to manufacture and install bespoke internal and external signage for the redeveloped site.

The Challenge

Within the sign design specification was the requirement for specialised extruded aluminium to provide carrier frames for the standardised signage solution.

The Solution

Liaising closely with extrusion specialists SAPA, Wood and Wood was able to manufacture the vehicle and pedestrian totems to exacting specifications. The double sided Hive ‘Hero’ sign was structurally manufactured in mild steel and clad in aluminium with cut out lettering from the 6mm thick offset front panels. Stainless steel cladding was wrapped around the base of the structure.

Additional external building identification signage was manufactured from square edged stainless steel tube enhanced by a horizontal brushed finish. Laser cut letters from the front face, exposed a solid acrylic block painted to Hive’s specified pantone colour.

The internal sign family was produced in acrylic and 304 grade stainless steel, with a horizontal brushed finish for floor level signage and vertical finish for the room signage. Bespoke cut out lettering exposed a painted acrylic core with contrasting yellow finish that projected from the stainless steel.  Braille signage was also widely used across the site.
