New brand launch of trains and offices

In September 2015, First Great Western officially became Great Western Railway.  The identity overhaul overtly references the company’s heritage and its role in the formation of the UK’s railways in the mid-nineteenth century.

Wood and Wood were very proud to be the nominated company to develop and engineer the GWR signage and supply the signage for the brand launch of trains and offices.

The Challenge

The new GWR Train livery required a great deal of development to ensure the logos were correctly engineered to achieve the desired look and feel whilst ensuring the signage was suitably robust for its lifecycle as part of the train.

Our Solution     

Using our vast knowledge in engineering signage of this type, we worked closely with the design company and the end user to develop the signage.  We manufactured an initial prototype for client sign off prior to full manufacture of the initial roll out.

Wood and Wood supplied 10 sets of livery readiness for the launch of the new GWR trains in September 2015 and signage for their London office in October.
